Prof. Layla Bashawri
   

Prof. Layla Bashawri MD, graduated from University of Dammam previously known as King Faisal University with a MBBS degree with honors in 1986. She embarked on her postgraduate education with a residency training program in Clinical Pathology and was awarded a Fellowship degree in Clinical Pathology KFUF (CP) in December 1993. Dr. Layla's main career interest is Hematology and Hematopathology with great research interest in Hemostasis / Thrombosis and Sickle Cell disease. Currently she is professor of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS), chairperson of the CLS department , Vice Dean of the Deanship of College Studies for the College of Applied Medical Sciences and consultant hematopathologist KFHU. Dr. Layla has always been an active member of many committees in the college and university. Dr. Layla enjoys teaching clinical laboratory sciences students (undergraduate and postgraduate) Hematology and Blood Transfusion, as well as medical residents in the University's Fellowship Residency programs in Hematopathology.

   

Dr. Ahmed Al-Bahrani
   

Dr. Ahmed had graduated from medical college of King Faisal University in Dammam on 1992 with MBBS degree and pursued his postgraduate training in pathology (hematology) at King Saud University-Riyadh and had completed his fellowship in 1999 after 5 years of training rotating between the major tertiary care hospitals in Riyadh region and Australian Blood Bank. He joined King Fahad Hofuf Hospital in 1999 as consultant Hematopathologist and subsequently as head of hematology and blood bank. He was promoted to be a chairman of the department of pathology and blood bank. In October 2005, Dr. Al-Bahrani joined King Fahad Specialist Hospital-Dammam as consultant Hematopathologist and Blood Bank. Dr. Al Bahrani continues his postgraduate study in North America and in 2010 he had fellowship in transfusion medicine and stem cell banking from Mc Master University, Hamilton, Canada. He contributed in hospital JCI and departmental CAP accreditations and also led the team for AABB accreditation. Dr Al Bahrani established highly specialized blood bank and transfusion service and the only stem cell lab in MOH in addition to many abstracts, presentations in international conferences and publications.

   

Dr. Rehab Bo Kamssen
   

Dr. Rehab graduated from University of Dammam previously known as King Faisal University with a MBBS degree in 1999. She started her postgraduate education with a residency-training program in Clinical Pathology and was awarded a Fellowship degree in Clinical Pathology from King Faisal University. In 2003 she awarded a Fellowship in clinical haematopathology from king Fahad specialist hospital in Riyadh. Dr. Rehab's main career interest is Hematology and Hematopathology. Currently she is the Medical Director of the Dammam Regional Laboratory and Blood Bank. In addition to her current designation, Dr. Rehab holds a Director position for Haematology Department and CME Department. Dr. Rehab has great interest in education and a member of many scientific bodies and actively participates in local scientific meetings.
